Can you pass a drug test on the legal buds

So my boyfriend is on probation and been on there for sometime now and he doesn't get off till November. However he doesn't let me smoke the real deal because he has to drug test randomly once a week. Will the legal buds that claim they have no THC in them fail him on a drug test the next time he goes to drop? We would really like to know because we really wanna buy some of the legal buds because not smoking SUCKS. Please tell us from any personal experiences. Thank you very much
