The Differences In Wall Coverings
The walls will need to have a treatment done to them no matter what part of the house a cannabis crop is going to be grown, the walls need to be able to reflect light for the plants. There are several different things that can be used to make this reflective covering on the walls and each has their own percentage of reflection.
White flat paint is able to reflect between 75 and 80 percent of the light in the room to the plants. Then there is between a 70 and 75 percent reflective rate for white gloss paint, which in some growing rooms is the perfect choice.
Then there is a product called visqueen, this product can be found in hardware stores and has a side that is white, this can be stapled on the walls and will provide a reflective rate of 70 to 80 percent in the room.
Mylar is another of these products that has a reflective side that can be stapled or otherwise attached to the walls. This product is also a building material and can be found in hardware or home improvement stores. The reflective rate Mylar will provide for the cannabis crop is approximately 95 percent.
There is one more fix for reflecting light from the walls and while it will not look pretty like paint would its reflective rate is hard to beat at a 95 percent reflection from the lighting. This is common household aluminum foil, this can be purchased in a heavier grade for baking and can be attached to the walls using tape.
